Purpose
Support the beverage service area to ensure guests have a smooth, enjoyable experience throughout the evening. Bar Support volunteers assist with service, organization, and responsible alcohol distribution in compliance with Texas law.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with bar setup and breakdown including stocking beverages, ice, cups, and suppliesSupport drink service for wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options throughout the eventMonitor guest interactions in the bar area and apply TABC guidelines as neededKeep the bar area clean, organized, and fully stocked during the eventCommunicate any concerns regarding guest safety or alcohol service to the day-of lead immediately

Helpful Skills

Experience in bar, catering, or beverage service preferred (not required)Comfortable in a fast-paced, social environment

Qualifications

Current TABC certification required — no exception

Purpose
Staff the community resource station where guests can access free harm reduction supplies in a judgment-free, welcoming environment. Vibe Check Table volunteers hold this space with care, discretion, and warmth.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain an organized, accessible, and well-stocked resource table throughout the eventDistribute free socks, Plan B, and Opill to guests as requestedProvide basic, accurate information about available supplies without overstepping into clinical guidanceMaintain guest privacy and approach all interactions with discretion and zero judgmentTrack supply levels and communicate restocking needs to the day-of lead

Helpful Skills

Familiarity with harm reduction principles and practicesComfortable discussing sexual and reproductive health resources in a direct, non-stigmatizing wayAbility to hold space for a range of guests and interactions with calm and professionalism

Serve as the first point of contact for guests and set the tone for the evening. Check-In volunteers create a smooth, welcoming entry experience that reflects the warmth and intentionality of the event.

Key Responsibilities

Greet guests as they arrive with warmth and energyManage the guest list and ticket scanning or verification processHandle walk-in registrations and answer basic questions about the eventCoordinate with door staff to maintain a smooth entry flowFlag any needs or issues to the day-of lead in real time

Helpful Skills

Comfortable with people, crowds, and a fast-moving entry environmentCalm and solution-oriented when things don't go exactly as plannedBasic familiarity with event check-in platforms is a plus but not required

Purpose
Close out the evening by restoring the venue fully and efficiently at the end of the night. Breakdown Crew members are the last hands on the event and carry the finish line across.

Key Responsibilities

Return at the designated breakdown time at the close of the eventBreak down tables, chairs, and activity stations and pack all supplies and equipmentRemove trash and any organizational materials from the spaceConduct a final walkthrough to ensure the venue is restored to its original conditionAssist with loading out any supplies or equipment as needed

Helpful Skills

Ability to work efficiently and follow direction in a post-event environmentComfortable with light physical tasks including lifting, moving furniture, and standing for extended period

Volunteers must pick up condoms and other contraceptives from The Mahogany Project office, as requested by OST Liquor Store & Little Red one Shop (3rd Ward). After collecting the requested supplies, you will return to the location to refill.

Role Purpose
The Prevention Drop/Pick Volunteer supports The Mahogany Project’s prevention and gender-affirming care distribution by transporting supplies between TMP and partner organizations. This role is strictly logistical and does not involve inventory preparation or client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Pick up prevention and gender-affirming care items from TMP or partner locations. Deliver supplies to designated partner organizations or community sites. Confirm quantities at pickup and drop-off using provided checklists. Communicate completion of deliveries to staff. Maintain confidentiality and care when handling sensitive items.

Helpful Skills

Reliable transportation and punctuality. Clear communication via text or email. Ability to follow delivery instructions precisely. Basic organization and item verification skills.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Ability to lift and carry boxes or bags of supplies.Must be comfortable traveling locally within the Houston area
